![]() Next, I'll remove them from the game folders and try the same experiments. open up your BIOEngine.ini file located in your mydocs/bioware/mass effect/config/ folder search for hte line that says SeekFreePCPaths.\BioGame\CookedPC and add two additional lines right below that one which says SeekFreePCPaths.\DLC\DLCUNC\CookedPC and one which says SeekFreePCPaths. ![]() The game will recreate BIOEngine.ini using default values, and should correctly identify your audio hardware. Launch Mass Effect without running the Config utility. I also tried having Steam verify the cache I've just now removed them again, and am having steam verify the cache while they are missing. Go to your \ (My) Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect\Config directory and rename the BIOEngine.ini file to something else. I tried removing the ones from "My Documents\Bioware\Mass Effect\", but got the same error message. I'm going to ask a couple programmers about this tomorrow to see if they have an idea why a bunch of games seemed to have gotten their inis messed up today. Not sure what happens if you create a new bioinput.ini and try to edit in the values then delete the suppress and filter rules. ![]() If that doesn't work I'll need to look up the proper ini entries to add when I get to work tomorrow since I can't remember them off the top of my head right now. BiogameConfigBIOEngine (in steamapps rather than documents this time around), youll see that Bioinput is suppressed in Core.System and Bioinput.ini is suppressed in ConfigCoalesceFilter as well. If pinnacle station isn't showing up it could very easily be due to the same ini issue and I'd recommend obliterating the ones you your my documents folder right now and let the game regenerate them. I had that happen to me for borderlands today and then did some google spelunking on it. I heard of some weird bug today where UT3 based games messed inis today for some dumb reason. ![]()
